Sepsis remains the greatest cause of death in the U.S. today, accounting for up to 50% of all hospital deaths. It also remains relatively unknown to the public and can be disguised by a number of non-specific signs and symptoms. The clock ticks quickly for septic patients, who depend on the alertness and recognition of healthcare providers to intervene early in the course, in time for life saving therapy to be implemented.

  • Implement proper decision making pathways in the care of sepsis patients.

This is an accredited PPE course intended to add confidence to your PPE usage through an interactive simulator and course information.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is the cornerstone of infection control in all healthcare settings.  Its proper deployment and use are essential in protecting providers and patients.  This course is designed to test your knowledge and skills using a state of the art clinical activity simulator.  Students will have an opportunity to refresh their knowledge of COVID-19 as an infective agent and then employ that knowledge in a state of the art virtual clinical simulator.  Your competency and confidence in your ability to protect patients, colleagues, yourself, and your family will improve.

CME Accreditation Statement

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of MedChi, The Maryland State Medical Society, and MedEd-Stat.
